ALASKA WILDLIFE

These two bald eagles were injured and being cared for in captivity.

These eagles were in a tree beside a creek awaiting the salmon run to begin.

You never knew when or where a bald eagle would appear. This flew by the ship as we were coming into port and landed on top of a dock where they were unloading a commercial fishing boat. (See photo to the right.)

This eagle was sitting on a small iceberg near a glacier.

A flock of seagulls resting on an iceberg.

Harbor seals resting on an iceberg.

This photo was too much to resist.

We heard that the best time to see whales would be about 5 am as we enterred Glacier Bay National Park. This picture is fog and limited visibility that day.

In spite of the poor visibility, we did see these orca whales. Rather, we saw their dorsal fins.

We took this picture out the window
of the dining room as we were
having dinner one evening.

This was the only moose we saw.
